Being Good Church Neighbors

Food, shelter and clothing are three basic needs for well-being.  In times of poverty and distress, these are often provided by the faith community.

At Trinity Episcopal Church, Iron Gate provides food for the hungry and homeless. Next door at Third and Detroit, the First Baptist Church’s Caring Center provides clothing.

Now Trinity and Iron Gate are joining forces to help our church neighbors with a clothing drive two Sundays—Oct. 24 and 31.

Our focus will be men’s clothing, especially:

  • Men’s jeans of all sizes
  • Men’s pants with 30, 32 and 34 waist
  • Men’s plus size shirts, coats and jackets
  • Men’s shoes.

Please donate only clothing that is clean and in good repair, preferably on hangers.  Are we being picky? No—it’s a lagniappe.  An extra courtesy for those in need.  Bring your donations to the Great Hall at Trinity Sunday Oct. 24 and 31 from 7:30 – 1 p.m.
