End of the Year Iron Gate News And Needed Items
After the crush of people (1,300-1,500) who came for our Thanksgiving meal, we have reconsidered our service of holiday meals. One very large meal with people standing outside in line does not seem hospitable to us. So we will be serving a special Christmas meal—ham—almost every day next week, Christmas week.
We also posted several new photos including pictures from Iron Gate's Thanksgiving meal, Blue Cross/Blue Shield presenting Iron Gate w/a $5,000 contribution and a 12-food Happy Holidays banner that local employees—hundreds of them-signed for Iron Gate. We also posted a picture of a volunteer Priscilla Tate w/a stack of our brank new washable dishes we used for the first time today. Getting away from disposable paper plates and going green.
Iron Gate is in need socks, blankets, and sleeping bags which can dropped off anytime between 8am and 2:30pm with Tanya otherwise just upstairs with the receptionist.
Finally-- it is time to make your year-end contributions to Iron Gate. As the numbers have increased this year, Iron Gate is need your continued donations to help make the end of the year special for the guests. Please make a donation in the amount of $25, $50, $100, $150, $500 or more today. Iron Gate can even send a Holiday card to someone if you make a donation in their honor.
