Thank you for making Founders’ Dinner so special!
Thanks to everyone who came to the 7th Annual Founders’ Dinner to support Hugh Robert, Lawyers Fighting Hunger and Iron Gate. It was an amazing night filled with great food, great company and more generosity than we can we measure. We are so glad to have you all as part of the fabric of Iron Gate. You make us who we are and it’s with your support we are able to feed the hungry and homeless of Tulsa everyday.
You helped raise $130,000 for Iron Gate operations in just one night - that’s 20,000 hot and hearty meals, groceries for 920 individuals and families, and 1,000 Kid’s Packs.
A special thank you to all of our patrons, including our Presenting Patrons: The Hille Foundation, Ruth Nelson, and Mike and Leslie Moore. We’d also like to thank our friends at the Summit Club for donating our delicious dessert and our partners at Tulsa Symphony, including bassoonists Charlotte Blakely, Susie Brown and Richard Ramey, for providing our entertainment during the cocktail hour.
10,000 Holidays and Counting
Hugh Robert and Lawyers Fighting Hunger have been helping our neighbors in need have a special holiday meal since 2010. Their original goal was just $3,000. Hugh Robert, a former Iron Gate board member and founding member of Lawyers Fighting Hunger, says they raised double their goal in half an hour. And so the fundraising for turkey dinners began. It started as a friendly competition between Tulsa lawyers and Oklahoma City lawyers over who could raise the most money to feed the hungry on Thanksgiving. Thousands of turkey dinners later and the competition was formalized with Lawyers Fighting Hunger a registered nonprofit. The organization partners with Iron Gate and other local nonprofits to make the holidays a little brighter for Tulsa families battling food insecurity. In Tulsa the group not only provides turkey dinners, but also ham dinners in the spring.
